Best Minecraft Settings for Low-End PC (4GB RAM) - Fix Lag & Increases FPS
Introduction
Many people think that to play Minecraft without lag or stuttering they need an expensive high-end PC. But what they overlook is that Minecraft is a highly optimized game which can work even on low-end systems with the right settings.
Without the right settings, Minecraft would lag and stutter in every low-end PC. That's why in this post I will tell you the best settings for your low-end PCs without Mods.
Best Video Settings
These are the most important settings for low-end PCs because these settings enhance your game performance at the expense of your visual quality. Copy these--
## Best Video Settings (screenshot below)

Here are the settings which you should definitely copy--
Graphics: Fast - reduces visual quality but increases FPS
Render Distance: 6-8 chunks - Reduce RAM usage (I lower it to 2-5 during PVPs to decrease stutter)
Smooth Lighting: OFF - Gives a big FPS boost
VSync: OFF - remove FPS limiter and reduce input delay
Particles: Minimal - remove extra effects (I keep it at decreased so I can see critical hits during PVPs)
Entity Shadows: OFF - improves performance in crowded area
## Best Performance Settings
These settings further improve FPS and decrease lag.
Max Framerate: Unlimited - removes FPS limit
Entity Distance: 50-75% - reduce lag in crowded area (I personally keep it at 100% during hardcore)
Biome Blend: OFF - removes the unnecessary blend between biomes
Clouds: OFF - remove clouds
Mipmap Levels: OFF - reduces stutter and lag
## Best RAM Allocation for 4GB RAM PC
People think that allocating more RAM will make their game faster but that is completely wrong. Allocating more RAM puts extra load on your system and makes the condition even worse.
If you have a 4GB RAM PC then you should only allocate 2GB RAM so the system can also run in the background and decrease lag.
Personal Experience
For a long period of time I was getting 20-30 FPS because of my Intel HD Graphics and Intel Pentium Processor with 4GB of RAM. However, I researched and found out the best settings for my low-end PC and after applying these settings I started getting 60-75 FPS and I could even run the latest versions now.
I currently use OptiFine which is a light-weight mod which increase my FPS even further and gives me optimal experience of Minecraft and I would recommend you all to check my other post about these FPS boosting mods - https://lowendpcgamingtips.blogspot.com/2026/04/best-mods-to-fix-lag-in-minecraft-low.html
Conclusion
By taking my example you might have understood now that you don't need an expensive PC to enjoy Minecraft without lag and stuttering.
Just by using these settings you will definitely notice a FPS boost and decrease in lag and stuttering. These settings work Best for Minecraft Java Edition on low-end PCs.
Final Tip
If you still face any type of problem, lag or stuttering try to play in lower resolution but with full screen mode and close every background app. You can also try to play in lower versions of the game. If the problem persists then you are free to leave a comment on this post and I will definitely fix your problem as soon as possible.
