Best Mods to Fix Lag in Minecraft (Low-End PC Guide)

 Introduction

Minecraft is a worldwide famous game known for its unique mechanics and enjoyable gameplay. Minecraft itself is pretty optimized for low-end PCs however, due to recent updates it has become difficult to run the game smoothly on low-end systems.

In this post I will share some of the best mods which I have personally used to increase FPS and reduce lag in my game.

## 1. Sodium

Sodium is a very famous mod which highly increases FPS and gives optimal experience of the game to low-end users.

In my case Sodium did not work in latest version because of my old drivers however, it was working perfectly fine in older versions like 1.20.

## 2. Sodium Extra

Sodium Extra is an expansion of Sodium which adds features which were missing in Sodium like Fog removal, visual bug fixes etc.

I always use Sodium Extra with Sodium since I usually play in a speed running style gameplay which requires Fog removal and I would always recommend Sodium Extra with Sodium.

## 3. Lithium

Lithium is a lightweight mod compared to Sodium which makes it perfect to use on the newer versions for low-end systems.

Lithium reduces lag and increases FPS by simplifying game logic, physics and rendering.

 ## 4. OptiFine

OptiFine is one of the most famous mod for low-end PCs. OptiFine offers a very simple interface and variety of options from which the user can pick the exact setting they want to change.

I have been using OptiFine for 5 years now and according to me it is the best choice for a low-end user to play Minecraft with optimal experience.

## 5. FerriteCore

If RAM is the issue of your system then FerriteCore might be the most suitable option for you because FerriteCore reduces memory usage in Minecraft. to make it work even on low RAM systems.

My PC have only 4GB RAM so for me FerriteCore is indeed a blessing and I would totally recommend you to atleast try it on your system.

Personal Experience

I have personally struggled for a long time to reduce lag and make my game smoother on my 4GB RAM PC which have Intel HD Graphics and Intel Pentium processor.

I would personally recommend trying all of these mods listed above and choosing the one which suits you best. like I choosed OptiFine.

Conclusion

If you are tired of game stuttering and lag in your low-end systems then I would definitely recommend trying these mods on your system.

The mods listed above are both light weight and easy to install. you can watch any simple YouTube tutorial to install these mods easily.

These mods work best for Minecraft Java Edition on low-end PCs.

Final Tip

If you still suffer from lag and stuttering or these mods do not work for you try to reduce in game settings and resolution.

I would also recommend you to enhance your RAM allocation just a bit in your Minecraft launcher.

If you have any questions or problem regarding this post then hesitate not to leave a comment down and I will reach out to you as soon as possible.
